Fashion Photography for Ipatia Boutique, Mykonos

Fashion photography in Mykonos is brand and collection shooting on location, where the island itself becomes part of the product story. In late July we shot the new collection of Ipatia Boutique across the whitewashed alleys of Chora, Little Venice and the windmills — one day, three looks, three locations.

The brief was not “nice photos in Mykonos”. It was material that sells clothes: garments that read clearly, colours that stay honest when they reach the e-shop, and a setting that makes the destination part of the brand.

The project at a glance

  • Client: Ipatia Boutique, Mykonos
  • Purpose: New collection launch — social media & online promotion
  • Locations: Chora, Little Venice, Kato Mili windmills
  • Shooting time: 1 day, 3 looks
  • Deliverables: 200 final edited photographs + 1 short reel
  • Turnaround: 4 days
  • Model: Lia Papadopoulou
  • Period: Late July 2026

Three locations, three entirely different conditions

Mykonos looks uniform until you photograph it. In practice, every spot demands its own approach:

  • Chora — narrow alleys with whitewashed walls that act as enormous reflectors. The light is soft but pushes exposure dangerously high; the job is holding detail in white fabric without blowing out the garment.
  • Little Venice — houses built over the water give depth and colour, but the space is narrow and public. It takes speed and timing to keep the frame clean.
  • Kato Mili windmills — the island’s most recognisable landmark, with the strongest backlight of the day. Here the setting dominates, so composition works through silhouette and graphic lines rather than fabric detail.

Moving through three such conditions within a single day is exactly why a Mykonos shoot is not planned like a studio session. It is planned around the sun.

One day, one person, full production

The shoot ran without a separate production crew: direction, photography, video capture and post-production all handled by One Take Productions, with the model as the only other contributor in front of the lens.

For a boutique of this size that is not a detail — it is the cost model itself. A typical fashion production with a stylist, lighting assistant and separate videographer multiplies the budget before the first frame is taken, and adds another coordination link to a day already running on the sun’s clock. The alternative is one producer covering both roles, stills and motion, in the same pass.

The practical benefit shows in the final material: when the reel and the photographs are shot by the same eye, at the same hour, in the same light, they do not need to be matched afterwards in the edit. They already match. For a brand publishing the same look as a post, a story and a reel within the same week, that consistency is what makes a feed look designed rather than assembled.

What we delivered

  • 200 final edited photographs, colour-graded consistently across every look and location
  • 1 short reel for social media, shot alongside the stills
  • Frames in both vertical and horizontal composition, so the same look works as a feed post, a story and an e-shop image
  • Delivery within 4 days of the shooting day

The reel, as published:

The material was published by Ipatia Boutique on their own profile: see the first post and the second.

Why One Take Productions for brand photography in Mykonos

The same logic we apply to corporate photography applies here: the client is not buying frames, they are buying material they can use immediately and everywhere. That is why photography and advertising videos are planned together from the start, not commissioned as two separate jobs.

We work the same way on multi-day corporate programmes across several venues and on single-day brand shoots on an island. The scale changes, the method does not.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take on fashion and product shoots outside Thessaloniki?

Yes. We travel throughout Greece, with a focus on island destinations where the setting is part of the brand rather than just a backdrop. This project was completed in Mykonos in a single shooting day, with three looks across three different locations, and delivered four days later. Planning is done in advance so that travel does not eat into the good light.

How many photographs are delivered from one shooting day?

It depends on the number of looks and locations. On this project we delivered 200 final edited photographs from three looks, in both vertical and horizontal composition. The number is always agreed beforehand, so you know what you will receive before shooting starts — rather than picking from an unprocessed archive of thousands of frames.

Can you cover both photography and video on the same day?

Yes, and it is our standard approach on brand shoots. At Ipatia Boutique we captured footage for a short reel alongside the stills, with no second production day and no separate videographer. The result is stills and motion sharing the same colour and aesthetic identity, ready to publish together as a single campaign rather than two unrelated deliverables.

How far in advance should an island shoot be booked?

As early as possible, especially for July and August. Beyond availability, scheduling depends on the hour of light at each location — in destinations like Mykonos the day is built around the sun, not the other way round.
